We leave Paris by the western districts of the city and follow the Normandy motorway as far as Versailles.
(Travel time average 45 minutes).
Our tour continues with a guided visit of the King and Queen's State apartments within the palace and the newly restored "Hall of Mirrors".
Free time after the guided tour for exploring the palace gardens.

* Warning! From April 1 to October 28, the entrance fees to the gardens are not included :
- On "MUSICAL FOUNTAIN DISPLAY" days : Saturdays and Sundays from April 1 to October 28, Tuesdays from May 22 and June 26 + April 6, May 8, May 17 and August 15.     
- On "MUSICAL GARDENS" days : Tuesdays from April 3 to May 15 and from July 3 to October 23 2012.
- On bank holidays and exceptional days.

* We suggest a good pair of walking / flat shoes to avoid discomfort. No high heels.
* Pushchairs are forbidden inside Versailles palace.
* This tour is not suitable to clients with walking difficulties.
* Pictures without flash are permitted inside the palace.
* Avoid to reserve your visit Tuesdays morning as Versailles palace is overcrowded.

Only fault was that the Versailles apartments have not enough toilets to cater for the number of tourists. (And we were there in off peak).

Every thing ok. Just one thing. It was raining quite heavily when we should enter the castle. Despite the rain we had to wait outside instead of either waiting in the bus or organising the entering system better so that everybody could wait inside the casle.

The tour guide was excellent with the use of the microphone. She spoke so gentle and eloquent. I will never forget her, her voice and my Versailles trip as always a pleasant trip.

Excellent guide, very good English, a lot of knowledge.
Bus was not very clean. Full of Japanese young people that talked all through the trip and did not allow us to listen to the guide on board.

The trip was great. Interesting commentary via the head phones on the trip out. Our English speaking tour guide was very knowledgable. Enjoyed having time to spend on my own. All in all a good experience.

We were very happy that we were able to see the apartments despite the general strike. However, the agents at the Cityrama office on Rue de Rivoli were all confused as to what was going on, and did not offer any alternatives if Versailles were to remain closed. They only said that we could go and view the gardens - for the same price! When I asked what my options were, the agent became angry - not what I would expect from a Cityrama agent in Paris.

Regardless, the tour guide was wonderful and very friendly. We were only sorry that the tour did not include the gardens, and we had to pay additional money to see them.

We were satisfied with the tour, but there was much confusion and lack of clarity on the website. I have been taking tours with Cityrama for over 20 years, so I was a bit surprised with this.

Our tour was wonderful and although it was extremely crowded in Versailles, she did her best to keep us together and pick out spots that we could stand in. Thanks for a wonderful tour!
