Versailles is more than a Palace surrounded with beautiful gardens. It also has a huge park where one can discover two lovely castles named Grand and Petit Trianons, former summer residences for the Kings who loved to rest and forget about the “Etiquette” of the Court.

Versailles State Apartments

In the morning, guided visit to the State Apartments of the Palace (Hall of Mirrors, King’s Bedroom, Queen’s Bedroom…) and free time.

La Petite Venise Restaurant

Guided walk in the beautiful gardens down to the restaurant “la Petite Venise”, located near the Grand Canal in the park.

Roquette salad served with Parmesan cheese
Chicken supreme and potato purée with olive oil
Chocolate Tart
Coffee
1 mineral water bottle for 4 persons
1 glass of red wine from Pays du Gard

Versailles Trianons

In the afternoon, you will visit the Grand Trianon and stroll in the park up to Marie- Antoinette’s Hamlet, the fancy farm where she loved to welcome her best friends and play at shepherding. In her theatre, she used to go on the stage. She certainly lived there the best hours in her life.

The tour was informative and well executed. Everything ran on time, and the guide was very helpful as well as instructive. I would recommend this trip to others who are looking for a convenient way to see Versailles and the Trianons.

The entry process into Versailles is a mess with no coordination. The tour experience within the palace was less than pleasing as it was just too crowded and rushed to look and enjoy. The gardens and Trianons area tours were very nice and slower paced. The lunch that was included was very nice. Not all can be fixed by Cityrama but they should at least have input into correcting the entry mess.
