Our excellent guide AUDE really had an awful time at Versailles. She was really worried about the entrance problems, because on that day, it took us longer than expected to reach Versailles, (the tour did not leave on the time it was supposed to), then upon arrival, there was a problem with the system at Versailles and there were so many groups waiting to get inside that it was a terrible mess. I personally saw her doing everything she could to get us inside but her efforts were useless. She had to deal with many angry customers and I know it was not her fault, BUT I think you should write a complain letter to the people at Versailles since the ones that have to deal with the angry tourists are you and your guides. She gave a superb tour inside the castle and gave us ample time to visit the wonderful gardens.
I should suggest one thing. I don´t really know why we had to go back to Paris instead of going straigth to Fontainebleau, it is a terrible waste of time!!!! We had Fontainebleau booked with you on this same day, and we thought it was going to be a direct visit returning to Paris in the afternoon.
I understand that you have to pick up new people or leave others, but if your tour offers both palaces, I think you can allow us to spend more time on each of them, and maybe, after Versailles, have lunch at Barbizon (which can be an optional lunch), have a little time to walk around the village and then head towards Fontainebleau, that way we all get more time to be at these beautiful palaces, have lunch in a nice place and forget about dealing with the usual paris traffic twice in the same day to get to your offices. I am certain you can arrange another bus to get the people from Paris to Fontainebleau in the afternoon and it would be a tour everyone would remember since these places are really worth the visit. BUT , I insist, there is no need to waste our time in going back and forth to your offices on the same day, when we can use that time at the attractions. OUR guide at Fontainbleau (in Spanish), was OUTSTANDING!!!! I think that I loved Fontainebleau because of her EXCELLENT guided tour and all her knowledge of the place, I really want to express my admiration to her, although I cant seem to remember her name, she was EXTRAODINAIRE!!!! She had us (a group of 8 Spanish speaking people, and all of us agreed taht she was TOP of the TOP!!!!) I really apologize for not remembering her name, but I am sure you will know who she is. She is simply SUPERB!!! and I would like to congratulate her again and again!!! Thank you!!!!
