After leaving the Southern highway, we reach the Serein valley at Chablis, surrounded by vineyards: visit to a local cellar and taste the white wine, one of the world’s best.
Lunch in the “Bistrot des grands crus” (or similar) –drinks not included.
Continue to Vézelay, the “eternal hill”, village classified by UNESCO as one of its cultural world heritage sites: guided-visit to the basilica dedicated to Saint Mary Madeleine, centre of Romanesque architecture and sculpture, and which still keeps some relics of the saint.
Free time to browse around the village and maybe to taste some other Burgundy red wines before returning to Paris.
