In the morning, Paris Historic : Paris was created some 2000 years ago and began at the Cité Island (Ile de la Cité). With emphasis on the history and art of the Capital, this tour includes a drive through the oldest part : First, you will admire the geometric design of Vendome Square and the fantasy of the old Opera House. Then, the Marais district and its « hotels », private townhouses of the nobility of the 17th and 18th centuries. Your bus will cross the Latin Quarter with its old university (the Sorbonne), the Luxembourg Gardens, Saint Germain des Prés with its romanesque church and its famous cafés, and will drop you near the Orsay Museum to take the boat for a short transfer to approach the Cité Island (forbidden to buses). There, you will listen to a guided visit of the interior of Notre-Dame Cathedral*. By boat again (Batobus), you will come back to the Cityrama office, near the Louvre Museum and the Tuileries Gardens. *In case of mass, the guide will comment for you the cathedral and its three portals from outside but will not be allowed to speak inside.
In the afternoon, Montmartre and Louvre including : Ride up to Montmartre by coach and funicular, guided walking tour of the village and Place du Tertre, visit on your own of the Sacred Heart basilica. At the Louvre, more than one hour guided visit, amongst the many works of art you will see the Venus of milo, the Winged Victory and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
Wednesday and Friday : it is possible to stay on at the Louvre for the late night opening. Mondays and Saturdays : the Louvre will be visited first before going up to Montmartre.
